Writing Through Workshop: Students’ Short Stories

PEPY Empowering Youth has a long-standing and wonderful relationship with Writing Through Organization. Writing Through trainers work with our students to help them develop their creative and critical thinking capacities primarily through poetry writing. Every week, we post a students’ poem that was bravely shared. But we do not get the chance to share their short stories! In groups, students are encouraged to write even more and come up with complex scenarios that further illustrate their beliefs, fears, and hope. This training took place right before the school closings and is a reminder of the positive future that awaits all of us when we continue to dream and believe in ourselves.
