At PEPY, our work is focused on helping youth in our community reach their potential through our comprehensive hard and soft skills courses. In Cambodia, youth is defined as individuals between 15-30 years old and they currently make up over 20% of Cambodia’s population. The youth population are also the 2nd and 3rd generation of survivors of the Khmer Rouge and are often the first in their family to receive a higher education, or even graduate from high school.
In addition, 60.5% of Cambodians are currently under the age of 30. This means that focusing our support and energy on the development of young people is pivotal to the country’s success and continued growth for years to come. This is why we help youth identify their strengths as leaders and changemakers to make impactful changes in society. Today, the youth that we support are playing an active role rebuilding and shaping the country.
While they participate in a PEPY program, youth are encouraged not just to pursue an education, but to serve as role models in their households, villages, and towns. In doing so, children can see what is possible when they have confidence in themselves and work towards their dreams. They run community events, help support libraries, and eco projects, and share their stories of change with primary, middle school, and high school students. This helps the next generation and their families understand the power of education.
Through their efforts, we see incredible changes happening in rural Cambodia, with the number of dropouts decreasing and the number of higher education applicants increasing! Furthermore, more communities are working to eradicate poverty and fight for more environmental and economic rights and services.
Overall, we believe and have seen that supporting and encouraging youth will be the key to a more sustainable way of life, stronger economy, and improved society. If you share in our beliefs, we hope you will join us in helping Cambodian youth in our programs reach their potential.

Become a PEPY Campaign Ambassador
This fall we have our #GivingTuesday Give a Gift, Get a Gift campaign that you can join as an ambassador or as a contributor! Run a PEPY Partner Event
You can also help us share our story and Cambodia’s culture by running an event in your community. Contact us to hold a movie night, group language lesson, cooking class, or another engaging event with your friends and family!
Volunteer With Us
PEPY currently has a several volunteer opportunities available that are both remote and in-person. This is a great opportunity for you to contribute your experience and lessons learned to help youth succeed
