PEPY: Same name, but different

As you know, we are in the middle of an overall re-branding process at PEPY (check out this video for a reminder on how we’ve been going about it!) As part of that process, many people have asked us if we’ve thought about changing our name.
The original PEPY acronym (Protect the Earth, Protect Yourself) was engineered during our early days of promoting sustainable tourism and environmental responsibility. Years later, now that we have evolved into an organization focused on education, this name doesn’t fit us as well as it once did. However, the PEPY name is so ingrained in our culture as an organization that we are reluctant to change it, as it holds precious associations for the communities we work with and the many wonderful people who have contributed to our development over the years.
Luckily, we’ve found some middle ground. We won’t be changing our name, but we have changed what it means, so that it better reflects what we stand for and the work that we do.
Check out this video to discover the new PEPY acronym… we hope you like it as much as we do!
