PEPY Ride X

Interested in the challenge of a lifetime? Keen on pushing yourself to new limits, all the while learning new things and having great fun? If the answer to these questions is yes then the PEPY Ride X could be for you!
The PEPY Ride is an annual 1,000km fundraising cycling adventure across Cambodia. Having had the good fortune to participate in PEPY Ride IX I know firsthand what an incredible experience the ride is. I had been to Cambodia before the cycle, but doing this gave me a whole new perspective on the country, the people and responsible tourism. It introduced me to aspects of Khmer culture in a non-tokenistic fashion. Khmer language practice was fun; the food was more than tolerable even for a very picky eater; and the music and dance were unforgettable.
My perceptions of Cambodia and global development issues were the challenged through visits to community projects, NGOs and social entrepreneurship. These visits were informative and thought provoking and it was affirming to support community development and education projects. I gained as much off the bike as on it.  
This year’s PEPY Ride is a very special version indeed. Not only is our founder Daniela Papi taking part but we are also celebrating our tenth anniversary this year. It all begins in Siem Reap on the 27th of December and finishes up in Phnom Penh on January 10th 2015.
The cycling route takes the riders from Siem Reap to Kampot. These two places are fantastic in their own right but it is the journey and stops along the way that will probably offer the best memories. These memories will be there for a lifetime – from the urban to the rural, the temples to the towns, the showers to the sun, the silk weaving to the friendship making.   Breathtaking scenery and unforgettable experiences aren’t hoped for but rather guaranteed. On completion of the ride  participants can relax safe in the knowledge that not only did they accomplish a physically enduring test, but also all the fundraising money they raised goes directly to the PEPY NGO.
