"My name is Lida Chhea, and I received PEPY’s scholarship in 2017. I come from a very big family of eight members, and my parents are farmers. When I was in high school, I used to work as a construction worker during the break, so I could earn some money to buy school supplies. It was life-changing for me when I received the scholarship from PEPY. I was able to take classes at the Learning Center, such as computer and English classes. I really enjoyed learning English because knowing another language is important and essential for me to work professionally. English class also helped me to know about other people, cultures, and skills that I can apply in many contexts for the rest life.

I was honored to join a STEM event in Phnom Penh as a PEPY scholar. It was very insightful to learn about other scholarship opportunities and see amazing projects conducted by other students. My favorite activity at PEPY was the exchange program with students from overseas that was engaging and enriching. Preparation is so important so that someone is ready to do something with their life. PEPY helped teach me valuable skills, prepare me for university, and inspire me to pursue my dream. If you want to prepare for a successful life both in university and later on in life, PEPY is the right place for you."

PEPY received the NGO Governance & Professional Practice Certification of Compliance (GPP) in 2018 for our consistent accountability, transparency, and integrity to our donors, PEPY community, students, and staff. Our Learning Center certificate is officially recognized by the government as of 2019. Graduates can use the certificate as proof of hard and soft skills earned after one year of study.

In 2020, PEPY was officially inducted in 3PC’s Child Safe Alliance network demonstrating our commitment to ensuring youth are in a supportive and safe environment inside and outside our programs. We also renewed and strengthened our commitment to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in our project curriculums, moving our office and classrooms toward zero waste.
